Refund Policy

The World Explorers Foundation (WEF) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the imagination of children through innovative programs, scholarships, and nature-based learning experiences.

This Refund Policy governs the terms under which donations may be refunded. It is designed to ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, protect the integrity of contributions, and enable our organization to steward funds responsibly and transparently.

 

1. General Policy: Donations Are Non-Refundable

All donations made to the World Explorers Foundation are final and non-refundable, including but not limited to:

• One-time or recurring donations

• Donations through online giving platforms

• Contributions through workplace giving, employer matching, or fundraising campaigns

• Event sponsorships or donor challenges

• Tribute or memorial gifts

Funds are deployed quickly in support of our mission, and we do not issue refunds unless under the limited exceptions outlined below.

 

2. Duplicate or Erroneous Transactions

If you believe a transaction was made in error (e.g., a duplicate donation or incorrect amount), you must notify us within seven (7) calendar days of the donation by emailing info@worldexplorers.foundation.

Refunds for donation errors will only be considered if:

• There is clear evidence of a duplicate charge

• An incorrect amount was submitted

• The donation was unauthorized and verifiable

We may request documentation to confirm the error. Approved refunds will be returned via the original method of payment.

 

3. Recurring Donation Cancellation

Recurring donations can be canceled at any time. You may:

• Log into your donor portal (if available), or

• Email info@worldexplorers.foundation with your cancellation request

Cancellations will be effective for future payments only. Past donations are not refundable.

 

4. Corporate Program Sponsorships

Corporate sponsorships made in support of programs, events, scholarships, or branding opportunities are not eligible for refunds. Upon execution of a sponsorship agreement or campaign participation, the following applies:

• Funds are considered restricted to the sponsored purpose unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• Sponsorships are not considered charitable donations unless explicitly structured as such.

• If a program is canceled or altered, we will make reasonable efforts to apply the contribution toward a similar initiative or contact the sponsor to discuss redirection.

All sponsorship contracts will include a no-refund clause unless otherwise negotiated.

 

5. In-Kind Donations

WEF accepts in-kind donations of goods or services that advance our mission. These contributions are generally not eligible for refund or return. Examples include:

• Educational supplies

• Furniture or equipment

• Volunteer professional services

Once received, in-kind items become the property of the Foundation and will be used or distributed at our discretion. We do not assign monetary value for tax purposes; donors are responsible for their own valuations and tax documentation.

 

6. Digital Currency (Cryptocurrency) Donations

Cryptocurrency donations are processed through third-party platforms and are non-refundable, even in cases of:

• Donor error in amount or wallet address

• Volatility or change in value

• Donation after a fundraising campaign has ended

Due to the irreversible nature of blockchain transactions, WEF cannot reverse or recover donated digital assets. Please double-check all donation information before submitting cryptocurrency gifts.

 

7. Event-Linked Donations and Registrations

If a donation is connected to an event (e.g., gala ticket, raffle, auction, or special fundraiser), refund eligibility is determined by the event's posted terms and conditions. Unless otherwise stated, all such contributions are non-refundable.

 

8. Discretionary Refunds

In exceptional cases, the Foundation may, at its sole discretion, issue a refund where:

• A serious donor hardship is documented

• An error cannot be corrected otherwise

• A miscommunication occurred during a campaign

Discretionary refunds do not set a precedent and are not guaranteed.
